Should I use a conveyancer or solicitor?

A property sale or purchase can be complex, so it pays to have a professional in your court to support you if and when the need arises!

A conveyancer is a licensed professional who provides advice and information with regards to the transfer of property ownership, as well as assisting Vendors and Purchasers through the selling process.

A conveyancer undertakes a variety of tasks to ensure your interests are protected during the transfer of land process. They will prepare and review contracts for sale, lodge legal documents such as the transfer of land and represent your interests in negotiations with the Vendor or Purchaser and their agent, calculate the adjustment of settlement figures including rates and taxes payable at settlement and communicate with your lender.

A conveyancer will ensure the property description is accurate and in accordance with the certificate of title in addition to checking for easements, covenants, affectations to the land, the type of title, any restrictions on the user or the land, and any other information that needs addressing.

Perhaps most importantly, a conveyancer will undertake to ensure the smooth finalisation of your matter. Conveyancers will coordinate the ideal settlement time for both the Vendor and the Purchaser with their respective financiers and will finally settle the property on your behalf by contacting your financial institution to ensure payments are made at the appropriate time and place.

We would love to assist you with your conveyancing needs!
